Backyard Baby-Q Baby Shower!
What a beautiful day for an outdoor shower! Here are some of the behind the scenes preparation pics.

Pictures of the outdoor décor from the day of the shower...
We put balloons on our mailbox and a Baby-Q sign with an arrow pointing to the backyard. Guests just came on back through the gate.
We had a "Formula Station", complete with "Lotions and Wipes," a Beer Barrow, a cooler full of soft drinks, and a tub filled with other drinks.
We had decorations hanging all around (Red, White, and Blue= color theme). I also made onesies for the new Baby with sayings that were relevant to the mommy-to-be and daddy-to-be. Since the gender of the baby is unknown, I made two headbands, just in case they have a baby girl (I personally think that they are having a little boy).
Designated spot for the gifts...
And of course, the "Cravings!" All of the cravings were kept inside with little sayings at the different stations. The bird cages filled with BBQ goodies were given away as prizes. The little square take-out boxes were filled with candies and were given to all guests as favors.
We played three games. The "Timer Game" was played as the gifts were opened. I set the timer for 7 minutes and the giver of the gift that was being opened when the timer went off won a prize.
The second game, "Doh-Baby" consisted of play-doh and a cupcake liner. Couples worked together to mold the best baby. The soon-to-be parents were the judges of the best baby. Here are some of the pics... The orange baby was the winner!
The third game consisted of the girls helping the mommy-to-be and the guys helping the daddy-to-be. The game was called "Call To Duty." The Mommy-to-be and Daddy-to-be were each given a metal ring decorated with some ribbons and baby rattle. The game was divided into three parts, where the mommy-to-be and daddy-to-be were trying to give correct answers to earn "Get Out of Duty Free Cards." These can be used for getting out of midnight feedings, cleaning up messy foods, changing linens, and of course changing diapers, basically any "Duty" that they do not want to do at a given time.
The first part of the game consisted of the girls vs. guys trying to guess the names of famous or well-known babies from movies, cartoons, etc.
The second part consisted of the girls and guys acting out a famous line from a movie, cartoon, etc. with the word "baby" in it.The girls acted out for the mommy-to-be and the guys acted out for the daddy-to-be, trying to help them earn their "Get Out of Duty Free Cards."
The final part of the game was the most challenging where the girls and guys acted out or sang a song with the word "Baby" and the mommy-to-be and daddy-to-be had to guess the song artist or theme.
For dessert we served "Baby Bobs" which consisted of pieces of angel food cake, brownie bites, and strawberries drizzled with chocolate on skewers. We also served a "Sweetie Pie" dessert which consisted of chopped up snickers bars, apples, cool whip, and drizzled with caramel sauce. Root beer floats were also passed out as a nice refreshing summer treat! The desserts went fast as you can see! I am lucky to have taken a picture of any of it!
Favors were also passed out to all guests. We had little bags of red, white, and blue pretzels. Everyone also received little containers of patriotic wrapped tootsie rolls. Then, these little goody bags were passed out. Some popcorn for the new "POP" to be and a grill "Ther-MOM-eter" for the new mommy to be.
Overall, everything went smoothly, and we couldn't have asked for better weather! Can't wait for the arrival of this little family member-September will be here before we know it! Here are some additional pics from the shower. I think Little Beagle Tate has the right idea now that the Back-to-back baby showers have come to an end. :)
